Welcome |
Rosewood Farms was established in 2003 by brothers Paul & Robert Rose when we settled at Rosewood Farm following ten years of nomadic pastoralism in the locality. The all-grassland farm, on the East Riding of Yorkshire border, nestles in the Lower Derwent Valley, one of the most important traditionally managed flood meadow habitats in the UK. We take an holistic approach to management, aiming to farm in a sustainable way, both ecologically and economically. The farm is extensively managed and stocked with native British breeds of pedigree livestock. |

Conservation & Land Management |
| Grassland Management | | | To farm in a traditional manner is the aim at Rosewood Farms, which integrates well with the objectives of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme in this target area. It is the combination of breed choice, husbandry methods and grassland management that contributes to the production of high quality meat from our stock. |
| | Arable Management | | | The objectives of the arable management at Rosewood Farms are to
provide the feed requirements of our livestock in an ecologically sound
manner whilst promoting biodiversity & proliferation of the
wildlife that such habitats support. |
| | Conservation | | | Conservation work at Rosewood Farm is supported as part of a Countryside Stewardship Scheme Agreement on the farm. The position of this grassland farm within the Lower Derwent Valley, close to LDV National Nature Reserve, makes this a priority target area for the scheme. |
